Matters Arising
Cataloguing in Scripts (Zenith) Alison Watson from Zenith demonstrated their catalogue records in scripts that were uploaded onto Libraries Australia and State Library of NSW. The purposes of the demonstration were to inform members of the working group about cataloguing standards, display of their library’s bib records on OPACs and provide the members a way to gain knowledge on cataloguing in scripts.
All members agreed to form a special working committee to discuss if a set of minimal cataloguing standard and transliteration would be formed for the public libraries. The committee will be chaired by Jane Greville and consists of 5 members: Anne Hall, Wendy Gindi, Lalani (Marrickville), Stephanie Lee and Kemal Serdar. The proposal would be submitted to IFLA. Marrickville and Botany libraries have cataloguing records with script in several languages and they are prepared to contribute these records to the National Libraries bibliographic database
