Matters Arising
Comments were made regarding the evaluation of the recent Multicultural seminar. The evaluation forms showed that more practical information was required. Presentations are to go on the website. Glossary – of library terms in 49 languages, completed, launched and demonstrated at the Seminar, 20th of November, 2007.

Guest Speaker – Susanne Moir, coordinator Bibliographic Access at SLNSW gave an informative discussion on the systems used and costing at SLNSW.
Re-Election of Officers Mirjana Djubik was unanimously re-elected as chair for another term Wendy Ford was unanimously re-elected as secretary for another term
IFLA meeting 2010 in Brisbane Oriana spoke regarding the possibility of hosting a 2 day seminar at SLNSW prior to IFLA
Training MYLanguage MyLanguage website launched at the Seminar, 20th November 2007 : Oriana is to send documentation to members of the group to attend training in Mylanguage. Members to respond with expressions of interest.
2007 Selection Meeting update Duplicate copied have managed to keep costs down and orders are being sent through. Shauna to keep members informed
Global Selection Meetings update Global Language Books is not to be confused with Global World Movies. These two companies are not affiliated. Shauna to keep members informed.
Multicultural Readers Advisory Bookmarks Vietnamese, Spanish, Polish and Turkish have been submitted to the Readers Advisory group for bookmarks. Ellen Forsythe informed the group that at present there is not sufficient funding to produce bookmarks, however the lists are available on the reader’s advisory wiki and can be accessed anywhere in NSW. This means that libraries without a sizeable community who speak a language other than English can still access resources.
