1. Matters arising from previous Minutes - Nil

2. Review of Literacy/ESL Selection days This review is pending due to Council amalgamations. The previous selection day was successful and another one to be planned for 2017
3. Guest speaker: Ms Vanessa Iles, Manager, Reading Writing Hotline and Jill Finch - Reading Writing Hotline

4. Libraries and Literacy Seminar Proposal to repeat the successful seminar on 8th September 2017 at the SLNSW. Oriana to look into booking suitable room.
UPDATE: 8th September the Metcalfe is NOT available Another date is being investigated.
Please think about who you could suggest as guest speakers… And/or what you could present about your own experiences with working in the adult literacy field. We will need to have most presenters organised by our February meeting.
5. Core Adult Literacy Collection List – review This was re-distributed to all present. See attachment from Reading Writing Hotline for possible further inclusions
6. Singleton Library’s Read Write and Spell tutor training - Robert Stewart from Singleton Library spoke via teleconference regarding his success using Community volunteers. Singleton has great success with this program and Robert is happy to share any further information
7. Strategic Plan Objective 5: Information sharing –– hosting an adult literacy seminar, this was done in 2015 – hope to do this biannually – planning 2017 – see item 4.
8. Manager’s Report Chris Jones: Not at the meeting due to the Switch Conference
9. SLNSW Representative Report
Development Grants to be announced late November There is currently an acting SLNSW Manager. Building works to commence early next year on SLNSW
Election of Office Bearers.
