Agenda Items

Tech Savvy Seniors – Update Telstra has extended funding for this program for a further 12 months. Library applications will open in June.

Telstra and FACs funded an evaluation report on the CALD program, which found that the program was successful in improving digital literacy levels of participants as well as their health and wellbeing, independence, confidence and social connectedness. The report will be available to circulate soon.

Edwina Duffy – edwina.duffy@sl.nsw.gov.au requested feedback from the group on the following: This year TSS trialled a combined Introduction to cybersafety and online baking session in Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean. In 2018/19 they would like to offer them as two separate sessions, and in other languages. Is there demand for these sessions in other languages at their libraries? They are also considering combining the Introduction to computer session with the Introduction to internet session or should they phase out the Introduction to computer sessions and just do Introduction to tablets and smartphones?

TSS would like to introduce a new module, Introduction to smartphones in all languages – any comments please forward them to Edwina as soon as possible.

Please email Edwina to provide feedback that will help our planning for next year.
