Maths fun in libraries

Maths fun in libraries is an early numeracy program developed by the Smith Family for public libraries. The program is based on concepts developed in their Let's Count program to encourage parents of preschool aged children to build their skills and confidence with basic maths concepts.

Several NSW public libraries were part of the pilot program which covered topics including:

  • Early brain development
  • Measurement
  • Shapes
  • Spatial awareness
  • Patterns
  • Sequencing
  • Rhythm and beat
  • Matching and taking turns
  • Data and probability
  • Volume and displacement
  • Each session features a picturebook that includes the concepts

For more information contact Deb Ryan at the Smith Family.
