Kiama Municipal Council is located on the South Coast of New South Wales. It has a population of approximately 23,000 people with around 19% of these over the age of 70. 91% of the population speak only English at home, with other top languages including French, Italian, Greek, Spanish and German.
The library services consist of Kiama Library, Gerringong Library, and the Family History Centre.
The Home Library Service is offered to anyone who is unable to come into the library due to age, medical issues, or disability. It currently has approximately 60 customers who have deliveries on either a fortnightly or monthly basis. The service is staffed by 1 permanent staff member working 21 hours per week. It has 3 volunteers- 1 who helps with selecting books for an hour per week, and 2 who help with deliveries.
We offer fiction and non-fiction books, normal-sized print, large print, book discs, DVDs, magazines, CDs, and jigsaws. We also have 11 older-style Daisy Players which we can offer our customers.
