Reference at the Metcalfe 2012

The annual Reference @ the Metcalfe seminar took place 8 May 2012 at the State Library of NSW. . Tee shirts for the event can be purchased from RedBubble (all sales are profit free). . The program for 2012 Reference @ the Metcalfe Seminar explored a range of ideas for libraries to think about, taking away the reference desk, how to collaborate with Wikipedia and how the ABC uses social media. . Creating and sharing digital resources will become increasingly important to libraries that want to remain service based, surely a key feature of reference work, and not be relegated to just physical store houses. This year's program promises to stimulate your thinking about what that could mean for reference and information services in public libraries. . The seminar featured:

Whilst @CatyJ wasn't able to make it to the seminar here's her quick update on where the Reference Excellence wiki is up to, created using the online presentation tool Prezi. Disclaimer: I'm still learning how to use this tool so it's pretty lean on content (ie, no notes).
