====Copyright and permissions====
Once you have decided on the books your library will be featuring for Book Week, check who published them. Here is a list of {{ :wiki:publisher_permissions_2021.xlsx |publisher contacts}}. If you need a sample permission request letter see the {{ :wiki:fetch.php_media_bookweek_form_letter_for_publisher_permissions_2019.docx |template}}, and email a letter to them on your library’s letterhead. In the letter, list the books by that publisher that you will be using, also list the activities you will be doing as part of your Book Week promotion. Do this ASAP! Some publishers will take 6 weeks or more to respond.

There is one exception – Book Covers! Photocopying of covers is covered by the 2016 agreement between ALIA and the Australian Publishers Association is in place see https://www.alia.org.au/copyright-and-book-covers (please note the following publishers are not members of the association: EK Books, Riveted Press, Scribble Kids’ Books, Starfish Bay Publishing).
