You have learned about family history, and understand the basic motivations of family historians and some possible information sources.

If you would like further information on aspects of family history in public libraries, including basic rules of research; hints and tips; privacy and ethics information etc. please visit the family history section of the Reference and Information Services WIKI

Exercise

In order to better understand the process of researching family history, try to research your own family back for at least two generations.

Discuss your findings with your supervisor.

On completion, please fill out and submit the Evaluation of Module 9. You can also suggest changes and updates to Module 9 on the Reference and Information Services Group wiki.
