The State Library of New South Wales is governed by the Library Council of New South Wales. It operates under the Library Act 1939. The State Library reports through Arts NSW, Department of Arts, Sport and Recreation to the Hon. Frank Sartor MP, Minister for Planning, Minister for Redfern-Waterloo and Minister for the Arts.
